Glasgow Life is a charity which inspires the city’s citizens and visitors to lead richer, more active lives through culture, sport and learning. Last year the charity delivered more than 18 million attendances at venues, events and festivals. Glasgow Life manages 171 venues across the city. These include Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Tramway; nine award-winning civic museums, including Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, the Riverside Museum and the Burrell Collection; Glasgow Club, Scotland’s largest health and fitness network, the Emirates Arena and Tollcross International Swimming Centre; the Mitchell Library and 32 community libraries, as well as community facilities across the city and a significant learning programme delivered across the city. Glasgow Life delivers many cultural events including as Celtic Connections, Mela, World Pipe Band Championships and the Merchant City Festival. Glasgow Life is the lead partner for the delivery of Glasgow’s Tourism and Visitor Plan to 2023, promoting the city as a vibrant, first-choice destination for visitors and tourists, managing the PEOPLE MAKE GLASGOW brand. It also operates the award-winning Convention Bureau which helps to attract more than 500 conventions to the city each year.
