How Can I Find Someone’s New Cell Phone Number For Free?

Daisy Shevlin

It’s no secret that cold calling is making a massive comeback! ☎️

The prime function of SDRs is to find new B2B prospects and their information. Knowing which steps to follow makes all the difference if you need to find someone’s new cell phone number for free.

  1. Get the free Kaspr Chrome Extension.
  2. Go to the person’s LinkedIn profile.
  3. Access their cell phone number.
  4. Give them a call.
  5. Consider alternate ways to find cell phone numbers.

1. Get the free Kaspr Chrome Extension

The first step to finding B2B prospecting information is to start with the right tools. 💯

Kaspr is an all-in-one prospecting tool that provides instant access to business profile information, including a potential lead’s phone number.

Use the free Chrome Extension to collect phone numbers from LinkedIn accounts, people searches, LinkedIn Groups, events and posts - all while browsing on the platform!

You can also use our software to access contact information like phone numbers while using tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator. This allows you to have both quantity and quality in leads simultaneously - no more needing to choose between one or the other.

Using Kaspr, you can collect the equivalent of a digital phone book’s worth of cell phone numbers for qualified prospects without even needing to be connected to the users.

Kaspr’s free plan includes the following:

  • LinkedIn Chrome Extension.
  • Save, edit, and export lead information.
  • Basic API access.
  • Task management.
  • Access to accurate and relevant phone numbers.

👉 Sign up for Kaspr free here

On top of all these features, in the Kaspr free version, you’ll get per month:

  • 5 phone credits.
  • 5 direct email address credits.
  • 10 export credits.

Plus, *unlimited B2B email address access when you invite three colleagues to use Kaspr.

*Subject to fair use policy.

2. Go to the person’s LinkedIn profile

When the Kaspr Chrome Extension is installed on your computer, head to LinkedIn on your desktop.

Once there, navigate to a prospect’s LinkedIn Profile. After reviewing their profile, it’s time to collect their contact information if they seem like a good fit.

💡 Pro Tip: Remember that you can also use Kaspr to get contact information from a LinkedIn post, group, or company page.

You can follow the steps we’re about to share on any of these LinkedIn assets or access these features for extraction in bulk through LinkedIn Sales Navigator.

3. Access their cell phone number

Once you’re on a potential prospect’s LinkedIn profile, click on the Kaspr LinkedIn Extension icon in your browser.

A tab sharing the prospect’s core information appears when you do this. You’ll see the contact’s name, location, company, and job title.

To show the prospect’s phone number and email address, you can spend a credit with a single click, and that information will be revealed.

You can then export the prospect’s information to your CRM, add it to a list, or contact the prospect immediately. All the prospects you reveal data for will also be saved to your Kaspr web app.

4. Give them a call

There’s no time like the present to reach out to a potential lead. Seriously, what are you waiting for? 📞

There are so many poor examples of email or direct message outreach floating around now. The phone is making a huge comeback. Cold calling is a vital channel for cutting through the noise of inboxes and focusing on efficiency.

Lewis Gadsdon, Founder at SDRs of London, explained on our podcast why the phone should be your first touchpoint in the cadence. 👇

As soon as you have enough information about the individual prospect to leverage value-based selling, call the prospect right away.

You can even call directly from Kaspr using our direct dial integrations through Ringover or Aircall.

When you do make that call, keep these tips in mind:

  • Start by introducing yourself and using a permission-based opener like asking if they have thirty seconds to hear you out.
  • Try to make direct contact with key stakeholders.
  • Customize your call based on what you know about the prospect; do your homework in advance. Researching the business’s needs and the social media profiles of key stakeholders goes a long way.
  • Focus on the value you can offer and the pain points you can resolve.
  • Always end the call with the next steps (but don’t ask for “30 minutes next week”).
  • Even if it doesn’t go how you wanted, thank the prospect for their time.

Other free ways you can find cell phone numbers

In addition to the four-step strategy discussed above, SDRs can use other methods to find potential prospects’ cell phone numbers. Let’s discuss each.

Online directories

Your sales team may use online directories for prospecting purposes. You can browse profiles of professionals, which may include their contact details like email addresses, job titles, and phone numbers.

Online directories are often grouped by industry. For example, if you’re trying to attract law firms as clients, you can use sites like the American Bar Association directories to view a long list of new prospects.

There is also a wide range of cell phone directories, which provide instant access to databases of different contacts. These may be particularly useful when finding specific people or people within a company.

Many of these online cell phone directories also provide info like related companies and other prospects that work at the company you’re looking at. Comb through these directories, and add the prospects’ names and phone numbers to a list as you go.

Search engines

A simple search may help you turn up a prospect’s phone number if you know what to search for.

If you turn to Google, you can search for phone numbers for companies. If it’s a large company, you may be able to go through a directory to hit the right department.

You can also call and ask for the key decision-makers you want to reach (after researching them on LinkedIn!) and hope you’re transferred - you’ll need to get past the gatekeeper. This limitation is just one reason why tools like Kaspr are great. Direct phone numbers = no gatekeepers. 🙅

“Contact info” on LinkedIn

When viewing someone’s LinkedIn profile, there’s a section that will feature any contact information they’re willing to share. Some users may include a business phone number and an email address; others may even be up-to-date.

This method can be effective but relies on people sharing their contact information publicly on social media platforms. That said, most professionals today don’t feature their contact information publicly, which is why tools like Kaspr are so valuable.

Bulk phone finders

Bulk phone finders typically include phone number lookups and validator tools. They often allow you to conduct general searches for types of contacts or an individual person’s contact information.

Bulk phone finders can help you quickly find and validate phone numbers, but the quality may not always be what your sales team is looking for.

They may have more personal lines than professional business phone numbers; some may not be GDPR or CCPA aligned.

Accuracy of contact information is essential; choose a tool that can offer high accuracy rates.

FAQs

These are some of the most popular questions when finding a lead’s contact information, including their phone number.

Is there a free way to find someone’s cell phone number?

Tools like Kaspr offer free methods to find someone’s cell phone number quickly and efficiently.

Kaspr can also help you easily transfer a contact’s information to your CRM while offering advanced lead management features.

Is it safe to use prospecting tools to find numbers?

You must use prospecting tools that follow all privacy laws your business must adhere to. Look for prospecting tools that are GDPR and CCPA aligned.

Are public phone number lookup tools effective?

Plenty of free online tools claim to provide a phone number for users; you just need to search for a name and find the right profile.

These tools may also offer an individual’s past home addresses and potentially a background check through public records.

The downside to these tools is that they may not have accurate contact details. They may also not be compliant with required privacy laws.

Finally, these tools typically give you someone’s personal phone number; sometimes, SDRs and sales teams need B2B company phone numbers and email addresses.
